• Doing and Completing Jobs
Jobs are among the essential factors in Mafia Wars. They help you level up, gain money, get special loot, and gather the seven exceptional items that are needed to complete your collection.

Beginners in Mafia Wars need to finish several jobs which are great money-making opportunities. They also help you in your goal of putting up a mafia group. As you level up, you will discover new and more difficult jobs that may need a particular size of mafia, extraordinary items, or certain level to finish.

You can complete jobs by clicking the “Jobs” tab in the Mafia Wars' main menu. Then, you will be taken to a page that contains available jobs and the required items and energy for each job.

• Job Mastery
Once you complete jobs, you'll see an area that presents your percentage of mastering a particular job. Achieving 100% in the first job tier allows you to head on to the next level and so on. There are corresponding rewards for every mastery level completed.

While it takes a lot of energy and considerable amount of time to master jobs, you will be rewarded with valuable bonus items that provide your mafia with lasting improvement.

• Getting More Mafia Members
The size of your mafia is very important to your progress in Mafia Wars. If your group has more members, you can complete more jobs, guard yourself from assaults, fight with other mafias, purchase exceptional properties, and employ top Mafia Wars members who provide you with extra bonuses for fights and jobs.

To include more members to your group, go to “My Mafia (X)” button in the Mafia Wars' main menu. The letter 'X', which is enclosed in the parentheses, indicates your group's present size. When you click the said button, the next page that comes into view will allow you to invite your friends or anyone you know to be part of your Mafia. The maximum mafia size is 501 so you have to choose your members wisely.

• Advancing your Character
You can upgrade your character not only by completing jobs but also by fighting or attacking other mafias. Once you level up, you will be awarded five skill points. Moreover, one skill point will be given once you master a job and a job tier.

You can utilize your skill points in Mafia Wars by clicking on the 'Profile' tab. Doing so will lead to a page which lets you improve your mafia's energy, attack, health, stamina, and defense. You cannot undo your points allocations so make sure you choose wisely.
