Pyramids

Pyramids are found in locations all over the world, but most people are familiar with those made by the Egyptians. Some of them are basic designs while others are more elaborate and detailed. A pyramid is a three dimensional design that can be complicated to complete. Some of them are very tall and wide while others are shorter and smaller scale.

Many modern architects are still fascinated by the early designs that they have found in history. Ironically, the main architect for the Luxor pyramid on the strip in Las Vegas refuses to go inside of it. While inspectors have said it is structurally sound he isn’t so sure. Even with this information though millions of people visit the Luxor annually.

Some people in the United States don’t realize how many pyramid structures there are. In Long Beach, California there is the Walter Pyramid. There is also an arena in this shape located in Memphis, Tennessee. At Meterie Cemetery this is also a small scale pyramid. Many people love to travel to the various locations of pyramids so they can see the structures first hand.

Due to the complicated designs of pyramids, they are extremely expensive to build. They also don’t work well for too many types of businesses as the design makes the use of space less efficient. Still, this type of structure is a great way to draw additional attention to the location. This in turn can lead to more business as people are often very curious about those things that differ from the norm.

Pyramids have certainly evolved since they were first made by the Egyptians so very long ago. They are no longer made by hand with just rocks and bricks. They can also be built in a year or less rather than approximately 25 years. However, it is due to the fact that these structures were made by people with less technology that continues to fascinate people.

You won’t find modern day pyramids made with gold on the tops though. They also don’t hold the same meaning as they once did. For the Egyptians, a pyramid was to represent how the Earth was made. The structure served as a way to allow the dead to pass from life on Earth to the afterlife.
