Giza Pyramids

Giza is a set of pyramids located in Egypt and it is considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It took 27 years to build the Pyramid of Giza, and it is one of the largest structures in the world as well. Khufu was the king of Egypt that this particular pyramid was made for. He wanted it to feature a solid rock base so that it would remain stable as time passed.

In addition to the huge pyramids, there are wonderfully detailed monuments of various Egyptian figures. Some of them are to represent the various kings and queens of the times. Others are in honor of the gods such as the Sphinx. There are many temples in Giza too where the Egyptians used to go to worship.

Some people find the Giza area to be much different than they anticipated though. They thought they were going to step back into time. While they will with the pyramids, there are roads and many tourist attractions along the way. This is also to make it much easier for people to see the Giza. It is likely you would prefer getting there in the relaxation of a car then by riding a camel.

The majority of the information we have about early Egyptian history was located in the Giza area. Archeologists have many artifacts that have come from that area. The majority of them are well preserved in museums. The history of pyramids and Egyptians is very interesting and many museums find this type of exhibit draws in large crowds.

It is believed that the Giza was a location built to honor the gods like most other pyramids. In addition this area was built to allow the king Khufu to have a structure that was more that what his predecessors had known. He may have believed this would further promote his place among peers in his afterlife.

Giza is the main pyramid attraction that tourists go to Egypt to see. They are fascinated by the formations as well as by the fact that it has been sustainable for so many years. The fact that the Egyptians had the ability to create such magnificent structures with their limited supplies and technology is amazing. Anyone that doubts their capabilities only needs to look at Giza to be assured they were anything but simple people.
