Moves That You Have To Learn And Develop

Muay Thai is one of the most popular types of martial arts today. Because of the technique’s efficiency in knocking down the opponent, Muay Thai today is now being used in MMA fights. Also known as Thai boxing, Muay Thai is Thailand’s national sport.

As a Muay Thai fighter, you have to master certain techniques in order for you to become a good fighter and win more fights inside the ring.

You need to learn about the clinch, roundhouse kick, and the low kick. By mastering these techniques, you will be able to have the advantage over your opponent whenever you are inside the ring. In fact, you can even use Muay Thai as a tool for self defense outside the ring.

The clinch is by far one of the most important techniques in Muay Thai that you need to master. This technique is both offensive and defensive, which you can use to your advantage. What you need to do is to get inside your opponent’s circle of radius or inside their comfort zone. Here, you will be able to execute knee strikes and short kicks, which can really damage your opponent. In fact, applying the clinch technique correctly can potentially end the fight prematurely by knocking down your opponent.

One great clinch technique is where you grab your opponent’s neck and force his or her down to meet your knee strike.

Kicks are the main weapon in Muay Thai. You may find that the high kicks to the head may be amazing to look at but most Muay Thai fighters say that knees and elbows do a lot more damage. However, with practice, you will be able to develop your kicks and let it become a lot more powerful, which can pound your opponent in to submission.

The roundhouse kick and the low kick are two of the most popular kicking techniques used by Muay Thai fighters. The roundhouse Muay Thai kick is a very useful technique for attacking as well as for self defense. When executed properly, this kick will prove to be very efficient. In fact, this kind of kick can easily knock someone unconscious.

The low kick is another common Muay Thai technique that is commonly used in attacks. This technique will involve a circular movement from your body to kick the opponent on his or her upper shin area. This is a very efficient technique where failing to defend against it can easily end the fight by incapacitating your opponent.

Use this kick a few times and after a few well placed low kicks on your opponent’s upper shin area, he or she will be unable to put pressure on his or her legs because of bruising. This will eventually mean that you can finish your opponent off easily.

Unlike other martial arts, such as Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai doesn’t use snapping kicks. Although snapping kicks are faster to execute, they have less power. Muay Thai may be slower in the execution of the techniques but are a lot more powerful. And, you will constantly use the shin to make contact instead of the foot.

These are the things that you need to remember as a Muay Thai fighter. With practice, you will be able to execute these moves effortlessly and effectively.
