Cross Selling
Information products are a great way to make money. In fact, they are a great way to make a lot of money! So, if you are already creating and selling successful information products, but curious about how to make more and increase your revenue stream without creating more products, here’s a little secret…
Up-sell and cross-sell!
How, you ask? Well, there are a number of ways, but consider the following helpful tips as you gear up to earn more revenue than you ever thought possible.
1. E-bay your way to success. With over 100 million members worldwide, E-bay not only provides you with a captive audience, but you can quickly and easily target these members to even further your chances for a sale.
If you already have an E-bay account, you are well on your way. And since the user-friendly e-commerce solution allows for the sale of digital information products (with some rules and regulations to protect legitimate businesses) it is a great way to grow your customer base.
As you grow your customer base, you will want to ensure you are doing everything in your power to keep those customers wanting more. And here is where you up-sell your already valuable information products. Introduce these new customers to more of your IP’s by offering exclusive offers on complementary products. This will allow them to benefit from more of your expert advice and allow you to continue to make additional sales.
2. Diversify your product offerings. So you aren’t exactly confident in your writing. That’s okay! Information products include far more than written material. In fact, you should offer a variety of products in order to ensure you providing the most opportunity for your customer base to take advantage of your message. Create a pod cast, a YouTube video or record an audio file that you can sell. Use your imagination and be creative. Think of what ways you like to receive information, and how you can improve upon what you already have to offer.
This additional means of sharing your information will allow you both up-sell and cross-sell your product line. From offering incentives for your customers to purchase additional, complementary products to seeking out additional revenue streams through reaching customers in parallel markets, you will quickly realize the many opportunities and benefits of offering a diverse product line.
3. Don’t ignore the obvious. With new customers comes new opportunity and with new opportunity comes new revenue. Don’t limit yourself to E-bay, or a singular marketing outlet, including your own website. Once you round out your information product line, be sure to let people know what you have to offer! Use additional forms of Internet marketing, such as employing an affiliate program and doing some grass-roots effort yourself, like posting banner ads and listing your business in applicable directories. The bottom line is, sometimes the answers are right in front of you.
Information products are your gateway to success. You just have to take advantage of this great opportunity. So, stop worrying and start selling!
