One Way To Lower Blood Pressure

There is an amazing stat that is out there right now that a huge number of people don’t know about. Nearly one-third of Americans have blood pressure issues. However, there is one way to lower blood pressure…. Diet!!!!!

I know I am making it sound like it’s really easy. However truth be told, it’s a heck of a challenge to overcome. It’s not like you can just change what you are eating or drinking. It is a huge life style change, everything about you and your surroundings have to change, and that is a HUGE commitment.

This is something that not only you have to be ready for; your family has to be ready for it as well. The reason is because they need to be your support group and have your back when things get rough, and they will get rough. You can count on that.

Once you have your own commitment, and you know that you have a good support group around you. Then it’s time to pick out one of the many diet plans that are out there to help you lower your blood pressure.

The good thing about picking a diet to help you with your blood pressure is that it doesn’t have to be some kind of sophisticated diet. You know those diets where you basically have to starve yourself to get any kind of results. Or you can only eat one certain type of food. I don’t know about you, but I can’t stand those diets. Way too many rules to follow and it will set you up to fail.

What many people don’t realize is all they have to do is cut back on the bad stuff and start adding the good stuff. For instance, cut back on your sodium intake, instead of having soda to drink all day, drink water or tea. You don’t have to cut out the sodas all together, just cut back.

Add fruit to the diet you choose. You would be amazed how quickly you can lower your blood pressure by adding fruit to your diet at least three times a day or snacking on fruit in between meals.

Some of the bad things you can cut out besides sodium is butter. Cut out butter when preparing meals, also use baked chicken and fish instead of red meat. Not only will this lower your blood pressure overtime, this will also lower cholesterol as well. Now that’s killing two birds with one stone.

Now remember, this does not happen overnight. The battle can be very long and tough, however just keep reminding yourself that you can do this and you will do this. Your life is worth it isn’t it?
